As Covid-19 cases rises to 254,President Muhammadu Buhari reviews lockdown weekends determine whether or not to extend the 14 day lockdown ,he imposed last week on FCT, Lagos, Ogun states.
Mr.boss Mustapha, the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, told the reporters in lagos on the 7th April ,2020 that the president would make the decision based on an evaluation to be carried out by the Presidential taskforce.
National centre for disease control (NCDC), reported that 254 people has been infected, eight people were discharged while six were reported dead on the 7th April, 2020.
Among the dead cases reported a was doctor in katsina due to complications arising from the virus.
Mustapha said that the taskforce would do an evaluation of its objectives on the fight against Covid-19 in Nigeria, this weekend.
According to Mustapha, the team has outlined its objectives and goals and within the next few days.
Mustapha added”president Buhari will make the decision whether or not to extend the lockdown.
He said that president Buhari took the decision on the advice of the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, and this led to the signing of the Quarantine declaration 2020.
Mustapha said further “we must abide by all instructions to stay at home and report all cases to eliminate the virus from our country.” One person who has infected one community can also infect everyone in the community. “
