A popular Nolly superstar, Funke Akindele Bello (also known as JENIFA), has been arrested this morning by Lagos Police command for holding a party amid coronavirus lockdown in Lagos state.
A Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele Bello, has been arrested by Lagos Police command for holding a party amid lockdown held to celebrate the birthday of her husband in her Lagos mansion located inside Amen Estate, in Lagos state.
As a Dettol Nigeria ambassador, Funke has appeared on several commercials in raising awareness about the novel Covid-19 virus. Immediately after the internet outburst by followers and other internet users, Dettol and NCDC have come out to show displeasure towards her behavior because it does more harm to the social distancing mantra they are preaching.
She later did a video that was posted on her Instagram handle to debunk the rumor that was spreading across social media. She defended the party by saying everyone that attended the party had been living in her house for days. She narrated the reason why each and every one of these people was at her place, which also doubles as her studio where most of her blockbuster movies including Sulia Kan Ayetooro Kan and Jenifa’s diary have been shot.
Funke Akindele said further that;
“nobody came from their various destinations to party with us”.Funke Akindele Bello
In the early hours of today, the actress was arrested by the detectives from the state CID Yaba, and further investigation is ongoing to arrest the remaining people who are Naira Marley, JJC Skillz and over 20 guests in attendance.
The police advised them to report themselves or risk being declared wanted.
