Xavi to Takeover From Quique Setien.

Former Barcelona Midfielder Xavi Hernandez would takeover from Barcelona present coach Quique Setien at the end of the season.

Mundo Derportivo say a firm agreement is in place that would see the 40 year old earn £5.4m every year.

The current of Qatar club Al-sadd rejected taking over from Ernesto Valverde in January when he was sacked.

Xavi who said he wants complete control of the club as reason for not taking the club’s managerial position in January. Said “I am clear that I want to return to Barcelona, I am very excited, Now that I have seen myself coaching I think I can bring things to the players.

“But I made it clear to them that I saw myself in a project that started from zero and in which the decision-making was mine. I have no problem: I don’t hide, I don’t take it back.”
“I would like to work together with people in whom I have confidence, with whom there is loyalty and who are very valid people. There can’t be anyone toxic around the dressing room.”

The decision by the the club to higher the former La Masia player has been reportedly agreed by the dressing room.

Setien has come under criticism both on and off the pitch as a result of poor performance by the club in drawing the club’s last 2 games.

Setien’s side which is currently 2nd in La Liga is currently fighting for his future at the club but sports outlet believe the former Betis coach would stay at the club till the end of the current campaign.
