Covid-19: Daystar Christian Center Donates Food and Relief Materials To Lagosians

In celebrating the crucifixion, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Daystar Christian Center has embarked on a social responsibility campaign charged towards relieving people of the pain and pressure of the lockdown restrictions across Lagos and two order states in Nigeria.

Sofo.ng can confirm that the church has an NGO arms in place headed by the wife of the Pastor, Nike Adeyemi, who is celebrating her birthday today.

The NGO, owned by the ministry, is responsible for these kind of initiatives for reaching out to people inside or outside the faith. It is an interdenominational setup that caters for people of all races, ages, and religious backgrounds but with similar situations of life.

One of Nigerian lawmakers representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Consistency, Oloye Akin Alabi has appreciated the kind gesture of the Daystar Christian Center in alleviating the effect of Covid-19 pandemic on Lagosians through the relief materials. He said in a tweet while pointing out the good works of the leadership of the church.

He tweeted saying,

While reacting to it, one internet user by name, Agboola stated that Daystar Christian Center has been synonymous with weekly poverty allevaiton outreach of sort. He said,

This is not just for this season, it has been a weekly activity @DaystarNG by feeding and clothing the church and non church members that showed up at the benevolence unit…”e don tet wey the church don dey do am“.

Alex Akpabio, a second resppndent to the tweer, in his own words said,

This is where you know a honest person that has the people’s interests at heart.. Not the so called billionaires donating billions to a greedy government like themselves. God bless you pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Center.

Arohunmolase Akindele in his own sarcastic response to the tweet mocked another church of the same faith that was reported to have sued the federal government over the lockdown. He said,

The one big church in our area is pressuring the government to lift restrictions because lack of tithes nd offering are beginning to affect their finances.

This news came at the right time where hunger is gradually increasing at a jet speed across the country and the effect of Covid-19 pandemic on Lagosians is almost at its peak. Just yesterday, houses across Lagos, Ogun and Ibadan were robbed by thugs and hoodlums.

In a country where every citizens have to vend for themselves by any means possible without government support, in a precarious situation like this, religious groups fits the role of life savers.

Few days ago, the lead pastor and founder of Daystar Christian Center, as reported by Sofo News, unraveled the mystery behind the Covid-19/5G technology controversy which had caused mixed emotions and misunderstanding in the Christian community. While some were standing with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, some were outraged by his shocking revelations. But Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar’s submission brought about some understanding and hence killed the controversial theories from all parties involved.
